Idaho buyers can match the engine to the job. The turbocharged 2.0-liter delivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft through an eight-speed automatic, the Pentastar V6 offers 285 horsepower with a six-speed manual on most trims or an automatic on four-door models, and the HEMI-powered 392 models bring 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft.
Rubicon models are the trail specialists, with a 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case, Tru-Lok lockers at both axles and an electronic sway bar disconnect. Jeep quotes a crawl ratio of up to 100:1 for a Rubicon with the manual transmission and the available 4.88 axle, and a properly equipped four-door Rubicon can pull up to 5,000 pounds, which Jeep calls best-in-class. The EPA rates the four-door V6 automatic at 17 city and 22 highway.
